The Meaning Held by Each and Every Day
“It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.”
Above is a popular quote oft-repeated by those seeking inspiration, motivation or even just a purpose.
The quote serves to lend beauty to the at times mundane nature of life, and to assign meaning where there is seemingly none.
It also works to emphasize the value of the each day, but is that really true? Is there really meaning to be found in each and every day written down on the calendar?
Well, the answer to those questions lies within us.
It’s not difficult to find significance in every day, but it is a challenge to make every day meaningful.
In order to imbue the days of the calendar with true meaning, there needs to be commitment on the part of the individual, a commitment that calls on them to make sure that the days don’t just pass by and that they are cherished as the treasures they are.
But how can we do that? It’s simple, really, because meaning itself can take on different forms.
It can come in the form of putting in an honest day’s work. Meaning can also manifest itself in a random act of kindness.
It can also be small, yet significant.
Meaning is abundant, omnipresent and there for the taking.
There’s no need to search for inspiration since it’s always there.
All we need to do is to recognize and appreciate it.
If your daily life suddenly seems meaningless, it’s not because meaning suddenly went away, it may just be because you no longer recognize it.
The beauty of it all though, is that opportunities will remain ever present.
One squandered day does not equal one squandered life.
The reason why life is more than just about the destination is because meaning remains present in each and every day, serving to give people a chance to experience their own kind of meaningful journey.
